Welcome to Dying Matters Week Nelson Tasman

Dying Matters Week 2025 events in Nelson are brought to you by Damara Pearl, End-of-life Doula, Funeral Director and Celebrant and in Tākaka by Laura Manson from Matuku Funerals. This event connects people across Aotearoa to start conversations in a safe space, learn from local experts and seek support to get affairs in order and navigate grief or loss.

Join us from Monday 1st to Sunday 7th September at local libraries and other community spaces around Nelson and Tākaka. The programme includes: hands-on workshops and presentations from experts in end-of-life, grief and death-care, resources and information from local businesses, curated collections of books on grief and dying, online events and podcasts, art and theatre, poetry and storytelling, Death Cafes and panel discussions.
