Join us in August 2026 in the beautiful Bay of Islands for the 2026 ANZSPM Aotearoa Hui.

This unique hui brings together speakers from diverse backgrounds with experience in end-of-life settings. The aim of the conference is to stimulate debate and ‘out of the box’ thinking, whilst also providing a context for reflection, renewal and restoration. It will include speaker led presentations and debates together with delegate discussions and experiential creative response. Attention to spirituality is woven through the conference. Its main themes will encompass communication, diversity & self-care.
Theme:Â ‘From conflict to collaboration’
Current speakers:
- Katy Mandeno:Â Author, podcaster and creator of ‘go with grace’ a website to support people in navigating death, dying, grief and end of life planning
- Lucy O’Hagan:Â Dr, Author, Speaker, Mentor and performer of her one woman show, Everything but the medicine, A Doctor’s tale.
- Glenn Colquhoun: Poet, author and GP
- Ben Booker:Â Musician and rural medicine Dr.
- Jo Egan: Emergency Medicine doctor and is actively involved in clinical education both within WDHB and at the University of Auckland. She has also holds a position at AUT, primarily involved with the Doctorate of Health Science programme.
- Tanya Newman: Hospice social worker and narrative practitioner. She is vitally interested in narrative therapy and collective narrative practice, especially with those who are dying and the people who love them.
