Help Us Build NZ’s Ultimate Funeral Playlist this Dying Matters Week
Music has a way of saying what words can’t. It’s there for our biggest celebrations and our quietest moments, and for many of us, it belongs at our farewell too, a song that captures who we were, what we loved, or how we want to be remembered. This Dying Matters Week, we’re inviting all of Aotearoa to share the song they’d choose, as we build NZ’s ultimate funeral playlist together.
It’s a simple question with a surprisingly personal answer. Maybe it’s the song from your wedding day, something that always reminds you of a certain person or place, or a tune that’s just, unmistakably, you. Sharing it is also a gentle, easy way to start a conversation that can otherwise feel hard to begin, with yourself, and with the people you love.

Share the songs you want played at your funeral
If you could choose one song as your life anthem or to memorialise your time on earth, what would it be?
Head to our Facebook page and tell us the song you’d want played at your farewell, and why it means so much to you. Every song shared goes into the mix, and together they’ll become something really special – a playlist made entirely by New Zealanders, for New Zealanders.
Don’t forget to tag the friends or family who need to hear your pick, so they don’t take over the music!
