Grief Conversations are Coming to a New Zealand Town Near You

Earlier this year, we had the privilege of welcoming Kirsten O’Connor from This is Grief to the Go With Grace podcast, where we talked openly about grief, suicide, and what it means to find your way through life after an unimaginable loss.

Kirsten’s daughter, Kahlia, was just 24 when she died by suicide. In the years since, Kirsten has immersed herself in understanding grief – not only documenting her own experience, but exploring what grief can do to our brains and bodies, and finding ways to help others better understand and navigate their own loss.

Through her books, grief-focused writing programmes and conversations with others, Kirsten has created spaces where people can talk about grief as it really is: deeply personal, often messy, and something that doesn’t simply disappear with time.

Now, she’s taking those conversations on the road.

From 31 October 2026, Kirsten will be travelling around Aotearoa New Zealand, visiting towns and communities to bring people together for honest, compassionate conversations about grief, loss, love – and the life that continues around them.

New Zealand Tour Dates

The tour is an opportunity to connect with others, share experiences and talk about something that touches every one of us, but that we can still find surprisingly difficult to speak about. Whether you’re grieving someone you love, supporting someone through loss, working alongside grieving people, or simply want to better understand grief, these conversations are a chance to listen, learn, connect and perhaps feel a little less alone.
