As part of Dying Matters Week, Te Atawhai Aroha and Organ Donation NZ offer the community an opportunity to have open and honest conversations about death, dying and what matters to us at the end of life.

Join Dr Kim Grayson, Intensive Care Specialist in Wellington and Organ Donation Specialist with Organ Donation New Zealand, for an engaging and thought-provoking presentation exploring the option of organ and tissue donation at the end of life, and why these conversations matter. Drawing on her experience caring for patients and whānau during some of life’s most difficult moments, Kim will challenge common myths, share powerful real-life stories, and explain how organ and tissue donation can create hope from tragedy. This is an informative, compassionate talk that will leave you feeling more confident to have important conversations with your own loved ones about your wishes and the legacy you would like to leave.

Also joining us will be Arihia Waaka, an anaesthetic consultant at Rotorua Hospital who will broach the subject of “is it tikanga Māori to donate organs?”
