Korowai Cuppa in the City Centre

Date: 08/09/2026
Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Venue: Mairerangi Room (Level 2) HB Williams Memorial Library, 34 Bright Street, Gisborne

For Dying Matters Week, Hospice Tairāwhiti is bringing its weekly Korowai Cuppa support group into the heart of Gisborne.
People are invited to drop into the Mairerangi Room at any time between 10am and 12 noon for a cuppa, a chat and some time to connect with others. No registration needed. Pop in at any time between 10am – 12noon, stay for ten minutes or longer – whatever suits your needs. Facilitated by experts in the field of palliative care. Ask questions, get advice, or simply share and be listened to.
Living well with an end-of-life diagnosis can be an emotional rollercoaster. Whether someone is facing this journey themselves, caring for a loved one or grieving a loss, Hospice Tairāwhiti offers a warm and safe space where people can connect, share and find support with others who understand.
You’re not alone. Let’s walk this path together.

The Korowai Cuppa normally takes place every Tuesday from 10am to 12 noon at the Hospice Tairāwhiti building, 421 Ormond Road, Gisborne, near Gisborne Hospital.
For Dying Matters Week, the group is moving into the CBD to make it easier for people who work in town to drop in.
If Tuesday 8th September doesn’t work for you, the regular Korowai Cuppa continues every other Tuesday from 10am to 12 noon at the Hospice Tairāwhiti building on Ormond Road.
Everyone is welcome.
