Assisted dying invites us to reflect on some of life’s most profound questions: autonomy, care, whānau, suffering, dignity and what it means to die well. Join Drs Jessica Young, Tess Moeke-Maxwell and Aida Dehkhoda for an insightful Dying Matters Week event showcasing the latest assisted dying research and resources from two national studies exploring assisted dying experiences in Aotearoa New Zealand.
The session will launch new practical resources co-designed with participants to support people using and bereaved by assisted dying and an assisted dying podcast series from the Exploring the Early Experiences of Assisted Dying Service.
Dr Tess Moeke-Maxwell will also share resources and beautifully illustrated works from Waerea: Māori Whānau Experiences of Assisted Dying, highlighting the experiences and mātauranga Māori of whānau navigating end-of-life decision-making.
Whether you are a health professional, researcher, student or community member, join us to hear the stories behind the research, learn about new resources, and be part of a wider conversation about dying, care and what matters most.
There will be plenty of time for questions. No need to RSVP but feel free to email any questions you have in advance to [email protected]
All welcome.
