2026 Silver Festival

The Silver Festival will return to Whangārei again this year from 1 to 14 October 2026.

It is an annual series of events across the Whangārei District to celebrate older adults and acknowledge their important role and contribution to our District.

The festival is supported by local community groups and clubs that register their events and join forces to celebrate our older communities.

Each event offers an opportunity for seniors to explore what’s available, try something new, connect and make new friends, be active, get creative and, most importantly, have fun!

The Silver Festival is facilitated by Whangarei District Council and is a part of their wider commitment to being an Age Friendly Community.
