Welcome to Dying Matters Week Otago

End of Life Doula and Celebrant , Sally Cattle is bringing Dying Matters Week to Otago. This event is all about supporting people to start conversations, learn from experts, and feel empowered to put end-of-life planning in place to bring peace of mind to themselves and their loved ones.

Head along to Oamaru Public Library and Ryman – Frances Hodgkins in Dunedin, to take part in activities during August 2024, including resources and displays, a curated collection of books on grief and dying, poetry and stories from the local community and opportunities to chat with Sally about end of life and advanced care planning.

Explore a curated collection of books for adults and children, about end-of-life, health journeys and grief at the Oamaru Public Library.

‘Dying to Know…’ Talks
Friday 2nd August, from 2pm
Friday 16th August, from 11am

Sally lifts the lid on all things death and dying including Advanced Care Planning.

Local Resources
Explore death-care resources from local businesses and organisations.

Poetry & Storytelling
Read about other’s experiences with death and dying through poems and stories shared from the local community. Submit a story/poem to remember your loved one…
