1:30-2:30 pm
I have practiced yoga for many years and used it to help me deal with some of the effects of my own grief. This is one of the reasons that I became a yoga teacher, because I could see the benefits of using yoga to deal with grief.
I am particularly interested in the mental health benefits that practicing yoga can bring, for example calming the nervous system, helping to deal with stress, and promoting better sleep.
I try to make my classes inclusive, adaptive and trauma informed. This is a gentle yoga class which will involve breathing practices, a physical practice and relaxation.
My intention is that the practice offered will help to calm and soothe.
What people should bring:
A yoga mat if they have one (I will bring some spare mats that people can borrow).
Something warm to put on for relaxation – in the case of the Yoga Nidra class because we won’t really be moving around I’d suggest people bring a few things to keep warm (eg maybe a blanket + extra layers of clothing) and a cushion or two to make them as comfortable as possible.
