We’re sponsoring the 2024 Hospice House Tour
This year, we are showing our support for the incredible staff and volunteers at North Haven Hospice by sponsoring the 2024 Hospice House Tour, a biennial event that is run by Whangārei Give For Good (formerly The Girls’ Club) to raise funds. Generous owners of beautiful and inspiring Whangārei homes open their doors for two full days in November for ticket holders to explore. The event offers exclusive access to a variety of creative and inspiring homes, including architecturally designed award-winners, with stunning views along the Tutukākā Coast.
Go With Grace Website
North Haven have been amazing advisors to us on anything palliative care related as we developed content for the Go With Grace website leading up to our launch in November last year. Much of the information in the ‘Preparing for Death’ section of the website was based on the Hospice New Zealand guide for people caring for someone with a life-limiting condition. They have continued to support us by reviewing information, suggesting changes and connecting us with new resources so we can continue to improve and grow. More about Preparing for death…
Free Community Events
In February this year, we were delighted to bring renowned French Author and Clinical Psychologist, Marie de Hennezel to Whangarei to present two sold out community events co-hosted by North Haven Hospice. Marie was an incredible speaker with decades of knowledge and experience working in palliative care – she was responsible for bringing the Hospice movement to France in the 1980s, helping to set up the country’s first palliative care unit. Dying Matters Week 2024 Programme
In Whangārei, we worked closely with North Haven Hospice to put together a packed event programme featuring many of their incredible staff sharing their specialised knowledge and resources. Topics included: Demystifying Dying, Get Your Ducks in a Row, Caring for Carers, Aromatherapy for End-of-Life Care, Ritual as a Healing Practice, Grief in the Workplace, Making a Memory Box & Capturing Life Stories. Get Your Hospice House Tour Tickets
The 2024 Hospice House Tour takes place on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd November, focusing on homes along the stunning Tutukākā Coast! All ticket proceeds go directly to North Haven Hospice.
