Dying Matters Week Nelson

Dying Matters Week 2025 events in Nelson were brought to you by Damara Pearl, End-of-life Doula and Funeral Director.

From Monday 1st to Sunday 7th September at Nelson Tasman Hospice and other community spaces around Nelson people started conversations in a safe space, learnt from local experts and sought support to get affairs in order and navigate grief or loss.

The programme included: hands-on workshops and presentations from experts in end-of-life, grief and death-care, resources and information from local businesses, crematorium open days, curated collections of books on grief and dying, online events and podcasts, art and theatre, poetry and storytelling, DIY Funeral Workshops, Death Cafes and panel discussions.
