Dying Matters Week Christchurch

Dying Matters Week took place in Christchurch for the first time in 2025, running from Monday 1st to Sunday 7th September at a range of venues across the city.

The week brought together individuals, whānau, and communities to acknowledge the importance of open and honest conversations about dying, death, and bereavement.

The event connected people across Aotearoa, creating safe and welcoming spaces to share experiences, learn from local experts, and access practical information and support. Through talks, workshops, and community-led sessions, participants were encouraged to get their affairs in order, better understand end-of-life planning, and find guidance in navigating grief and loss.
