Tell us what you do
I offer compassionate, non-medical, and holistic care, focusing on the emotional, spiritual, and practical needs of the dying person. Providing a comforting presence, creating a safe space for open discussions about fears, hopes, and wishes surrounding death. I assist in creating personalised plans for the dying process, offering guidance on legacy work, helping to ease discomfort, and providing emotional support to both the individual and their loved ones.
Why you are involved in Dying Matters Week?
I’ve always seen such a need in my communities and region to open up discussions, reduce fear around death conversations and provide and connect people with transparent and important information for everyone to make informed and valued decisions for themselves and their loved ones.
Tell us about the 2025 Programme in Taranaki
In Taranaki we held a death cafe discussing anything death and dying related in a safe and relaxed library environment, a Wills and Insurance workshop was held to provide the important information we all need to consider for end of life, a death without debt workshop explaining the whole process and how to plan and create your own funeral and considerations around the costs of funerals in Taranaki. Abrahams opened up their funeral home for a caskets and shrouds discussion, a mortuary tour and a tour of their private crematorium with such fascinating and insightful information. Find out more…
