Your hui ticket covers two full days of presentations, connected experiences and interactive workshops held in Whangārei. Hear from a range of speakers, sharing lived experiences and perspectives around death, dying, caring and grieving. Build your own village of support (both personally and professionally) and have a say in the future of compassionate communities in Aotearoa.

We’ve got you covered with nourishing morning and afternoon teas each day, including locally roasted plunger coffee and herbal teas. Your ticket also includes a delicious gourmet boxed lunch on day one from Whangārei’s renowned sourdough baker, All You Knead. Just next door is Kai Toi Cafe for all day barista coffee.

We’ll help you relax and transition between sessions with ‘wellbeing tasters’ and you’re all welcome to join a morning yoga/stretch class on day two before the formal part of the day begins.

During the hui, there will be a large focus on knowledge sharing, to ensure all participants leave with a full kete (basket) of resources and information to take back to their own communities and share with as many others as possible.

Tickets are limited to 120 spaces.

'Pay it Forward' Tickets

In the spirit of building a village, we’re offering you the chance to ‘sponsor’ a ticket for someone who wouldn’t otherwise be able to attend by choosing to ‘pay it forward’.

What does this mean?

  1. When you buy your ticket on Eventfinda, if you or your organisation is in a position to pay for an extra ticket, you have the option to purchase a second ‘Pay it Forward’ ticket.
  2. Anyone who is keen to come but unable to cover the cost of their own ticket can enter a draw to receive one of these sponsored tickets.
  3. On Friday 25th April, the ‘Pay it Forward’ tickets will be randomly allocated to those who have entered the draw.

We believe this is a wonderful way for larger organisations and individuals to embrace the true spirit of the hui – by purchasing extra tickets to support others in the community and help build a village. 🙂

Go in the Draw for a ‘Pay it Forward’ Ticket

If you would love to attend the hui but are unable to fund your ticket at this time, you can enter the draw for a ‘Pay it Forward’ ticket. Simply send us your details in the form below to be considered.

On Friday 25th April, we will randomly select winners and distribute all ‘Pay it Forward’ tickets to those who have entered the draw.
