Keynote Speaker: Dr Janet Turnbull

Dr Janet Turnbull is a Geriatrician and Palliative Care Physician. She was the Clinical leader of the ORA (Older Adult, Rehabilitation and Allied Health) service at Capital and Coast District Health Board. She has worked within the DHB to remodel the Geriatric Service and create specialist services in Movement Disorders. Dr Turnbull has helped to develop the Community Multi-disciplinary Motor Neurone Disease service. She was a member of the College Adult Education Committee and an examiner for the college. She has provided specialist education in palliative care in neurodegenerative disease. Dr Turnbull is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Physicians.

This hui explores how a palliative approach can support individuals living with dementia to maintain their quality of life until the end, while providing essential support for their caregivers throughout the journey.
