The Mangawhai Death Café This a relaxed, respectful gathering where people come together to talk about death, dying, and all the things that stir up — over a cuppa. There’s no agenda, no pressure to share, no sales pitches and no experts running the show. It’s not therapy or a support group, but it is supportive. These conversations can open the door to thinking ahead — sorting the admin (like wills and wishes), making space for emotional preparation, and exploring what really matters while we’re still here. They’re quietly powerful. Often comforting. And strangely, they leave many people feeling more alive, more connected, and a little more ready — for themselves, and for the people they love.
