North Haven Hospice

We provide specialist palliative care for people of any age with any life-limiting condition, and support for their families/whānau and carers, throughout the entire Whangārei District and south-east of Kaipara District. We also support specialist palliative care across Northland in conjunction with the other three hospice services in the region. Hospice is a holistic wrap around service of care providing a range of supportive care from sharing your life story with a biographer, bereavement counselling, and spiritual care, plus many other services.  It’s whatever brings the individual and their whānau peace and joy. Everything we provide is free of charge.

How We Can Help...

  • Care for Loved Ones

You can access North Haven Hospice care if you have been diagnosed with a life-limiting condition or terminal illness and live in the Whangārei District or south-east of Kaipara District including Mangawhai, Kaiwaka, Maungaturoto, Topuni and Oruawharo. You can be any age. If you think you or a family or whānau member may benefit from North Haven care, the best first step is to contact your GP or another health care professional already helping you as they will be able to start the North Haven Hospice referral process.

  • Hospice Shops

Our North Haven Hospice Shops rely on donated goods, as well as customers and volunteers. We simply could not continue without your support. Thank you! To recognise your generosity, we aim to make as much as we can from your donated goods. Our retail sales contribute to the specialist care for local people and their families and whānau.

  • Volunteer

North Haven Hospice was established by volunteers over 35 years ago and has been supported by volunteers ever since. We simply could not provide North Haven care to people, their families and whānau without our volunteers. You’d be surprised at the range of things our volunteers do and can offer to support North Haven!
